2. Users and terms of use

Accessing and/or using this portal grants the status of USER, who accepts, from the moment of such access and/or use, the General Terms of Use set out here. The Website provides access to informational content about 80s arcade culture and to 19 original, free games (Labyra, Invasia, Grimpa, Blokko, Astrox, Duelo, Rebote, Serpex, Cruzix, Escudo, Ralix, Tunelia, Golpeta, Guardián, Trazo, Cobrix, Asalto, Liana, and Tubos) belonging to Arcadia. The USER assumes responsibility for the use of the portal and the games it integrates.

3. Using the games: no sign-up, no server-side data storage

Arcadia’s games do not require any kind of sign-up: no account is needed, by email or through third-party services, to play them. They are completely free to use and never require entering bank or payment details, as the Website has no payment gateway.

Each game runs entirely in your own browser via JavaScript. Your score and high score are saved locally in your own browser (localStorage), solely so you can see your progress between sessions; they are never sent to or stored on any server, and Arcadia never has access to them. Clearing your browser’s cache will erase this locally stored data.

4. Informational nature and originality of the games

Arcadia’s 19 games are original creations of our own, generically inspired by the aesthetics and mechanics of the 1980s arcade genre, but they do not reproduce the code, graphics, names, or design of any specific commercial video game. Arcadia is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any manufacturer, studio, or trademark holder in the video game industry.

The Website’s editorial content (articles on history, trivia, and 80s culture) may mention, for purely informational, cultural, and historical purposes, the names of real games, brands, or products from the era. Such brands belong to their respective owners, and their mention does not imply any relationship, sponsorship, or endorsement by those brands toward Arcadia.

5. Monetization and advertising

Arcadia is an informational and entertainment project funded through the display of advertising.

The Website may host advertising content (such as Google AdSense). Advertisers are solely responsible for ensuring that material submitted for inclusion on the Website complies with applicable law.

6. Intellectual and industrial property

Arcadia owns all intellectual and industrial property rights to its website, as well as to the elements it contains (including, without limitation: the games’ code, graphic design, texts, and logos). All rights reserved.

7. Disclaimer of warranties and liability

Arcadia is not liable, under any circumstances, for damages of any kind that may arise from, including without limitation: errors or omissions in the content, unavailability of the portal, loss of scores or high scores saved locally in your browser, or the transmission of viruses or malicious software, despite having adopted all necessary technological measures to prevent it.
